Community Centre SIGNAGE
GH Dawe Community Centre
Behrends was awarded the exterior building signage through the tendering process. Behrends later worked directly with the City of Red Deer for the interior signage to the GH Dawe Community Centre Expansion.
Project overview
Working directly with CANA Construction, Behrends had to pre-determine the anchoring brackets for the signage due to the angles of the exterior faced finishing which provided immense detail to the overall architecture over the GH Dawe Community Centre.
Project details
Detailed drawings and 3D renderings were supplied both to The City of Red Deer and CANA Construction detailing anchor points, lighting components and requirements, and mounting details.
All this coordination well in-advance of manufacturing the signage created a seamless install which otherwise could have created a lot of problems if these potential issues were not foreseen.

The expansion of the community centre includes an NHL-sized hockey rink, enlargement of the existing rink, expanded fitness centre, an outdoor spray park, enhanced parking and improved facility access. The project was completed and opened to the public on March 19, 2023.
